Whirimako Black Trio

Whirimako Black is Aotearoa’s undisputed soul diva. With melodies caressed into shape by the language of her ancestors, Whirimako has carved out a musical pathway leading from the mists of Te Urewera to the world. She has featured in collaborations with some of the World’s and Aotearoa’s most highly regarded musicians. In the Trio she is joined by multi-instrumentalist Kim Halliday who has performed in major festivals around the world, and Mahina Kaui, a recording artist, composer and accomplished player of Nga Taonga Pūoro (Māori instruments).
