Trident High School Golden Jubilee

Trident High School is excited to be celebrating our Golden Jubilee in 2023 - the 50th anniversary of Trident High School’s opening.

The events will be held on Friday, 2 and Saturday, 3 June 2023 which is a long weekend - King's Birthday Weekend - with Monday as a public holiday. This is an opportunity for those who are not local to spend time in Whakatane. We would like to celebrate this significant event with all ages, past & present families, staff & community, and we invite registrations of interest from everyone. We will have a range of events over the two days that we are sure you will want to be part of.

FRIDAY 2 JUNE

4:00PM | Registration Desk Opens
Check-in for the Jubilee Celebration events, pick up your merchandise and get your tickets for the
dinner. Registration desk at the school reception.

4:00PM to 5:00PM | School Tours
Sign up for a tour of the school and see all the changes we've made in the past 50 years. Meet at
the school reception.

4:30pm Afternoon Tea
Chance to meet Adrienne Scott-Jones the Principal and longstanding staff members and members
of the board of Trident High School, view some photos and memorabilia and celebrate our Golden
Jubilee. Meet in the staffroom in the administration block.

5:30PM to 6:30PM | Basketball & Netball
Trident's High School top sports teams will challenge Trident Alumni across a number of sports
including Basketball and Netball. Sign up to play or watch the games and cheer on the players. Meet in the auditorium.

6:30PM | Catch up at The Comm
Come along for an informal evening catch-up at The Comm, a chance to mix and mingle and
reconnect with your peers. Limited spaces available (meet at The Comm, 45 The Strand,
Whakatane). Ticket includes nibbles. Cash bar is available.

SATURDAY 3 JUNE

9:30AM | Powhiri
Official welcome powhiri for the Jubilee Celebrations. Meet at the front of the school at 9:20am.

10:30AM to 11:30AM | School Tours
Sign up for a tour of the school and see all the changes we've made in the past years. Meet at the
school reception.

12:00PM to 1.30PM | Hockey, Rugby & Football
Trident's High School's sports teams will challenge Trident Alumni across a number of sports
including Hockey, Football, and Rugby. Sign up to play or watch the games and cheer on the
players. Hockey on the Turf. Rugby and Football on the school field.

5:30PM | Jubilee Dinner $110
Trident High School's current and past parents, staff and friends are invited to enjoy a celebratory
dinner to mark Trident High School’s 50th Jubilee celebrations in style. The Jubilee Dinner will blend past and present offering the chance for the whole Trident. Community to mix and mingle, reconnect and reminisce with old friends or make new friends. There
will be live entertainment, and a live auction to raise funds for the school. There will also be a chance for your decade to have a group photo taken to mark the 50th Jubilee. Ticket includes a buffet dinner and a welcome drink on arrival. A cash bar is available. Dinner to be held in the auditorium.  Photos and walk down memory lane will be in the gymnasium. Dress is smart/cocktail.
