Clothes Swap

Clothes Swap - Te Kōputu Turns 10

Too late, you missed it

Are you tired of your wardrobe? Feel like you’ve got nothing to wear but can’t afford to splurge on something new? Want to shop and look after our environment at the same time?

Join us on Wednesday 25 May for a community Clothes Swap. Bring in your unwanted clothing and swap it for someone else’s treasure.

This swap is all about building community, reducing textile waste and thinking differently about our purchasing habits.

How it works:
1. Go through your wardrobe and pull-out clothes, shoes and accessories that aren’t used by you or your whānau anymore.
2. Make sure they are clean, good quality, and in good condition with no major rips or stains (the standard of clothes you give should be clothes you would wear yourself).
3. Put them in a reusable bag (max 20 items).
4. Bring your items to Te Kōputu a te Whanga a Toi (Whakatāne Library) anytime between Monday 23 May and Wednesday 25 May, and receive tokens for your items (or you can even bring your items on the day).
5. Come to Te Kōputu on Wednesday 25 May with your tokens or items, browse the racks, and take home your new threads!

When: Wednesday 25 May 2022, 12:30pm – 4:30pm
Where: Te Kōputu a Te Whanga a Toi (49 Kakahoroa Dr, Whakatāne)
Please contact 07 306 0509 or library@whakatane.govt.nz for more information and bookings

Space will be limited so the one in / one out rule will apply to keep everyone safe.
