Whakatāne Aquatic and Fitness Centre

There's something for everyone at the Whakatāne District Aquatic Centre. Swim some laps in the 25-metre pool, relax in one of the spas, work out in the gym complex, take the kids paddling in the learners or beach pools, or get your thrills on the hydroslide.

This extensive facility includes:

  • 25-metre indoor heated pool
  • 33-metre outdoor heated pool (Sep - Apr)
  • Two spa pools
  • Hydroslide
  • Learners pool
  • Beach pool
  • Aquatic Centre Gym

Programmes include Learn-to-Swim (6 months to adult), Aquacise and Holiday Fun. Several clubs also use the facility for weekly training, including the Amateur Swim Club, Underwater Hockey, Tri Club and Surf Club.

Birthday parties

A party area beside the beach and learners pool can be hired. The pools can also be booked after hours for birthday parties or work functions. Contact the Centre directly for more details.

This picturesque, well-groomed 18-hole course is on flat, easy walking land and is adjacent to the Tarawera River with mountain views and bird life adding to the enjoyment for players.
