Organise an Event or Conference

If you’re planning a social function, conference, or hosting a domestic or national event in the Whakatāne District you’ve come to the right place.

There are four simple steps that can help you develop and run a successful event: planning (thinking it through), preparation (organise all that you need), presentation (conducting the event) and evaluation (celebrate successes, identify issues).

We've put together some great resources to guide you through the steps and to help make sure your event is a success:

  1. Events Planning Guide - (PDF, 4.5 MB)
  2. Whakatāne District Council's 'Toolkit for planning and marketing your event'
