Whakatāne Hospital is a public hospital that provides a high standard of core health services to the people of the Eastern Bay of Plenty.

The hospital has 160 beds and over 800 staff. Care spans medical, surgical, pediatric, maternity, obstetric/gynecological and mental health, as well as a wide range of associated clinical support and allied health services.

The Project Hope Cancer Centre provides an excellent oncology base for the region.
