Digital Noticeboards

Does your club, organisation or sports team need some help promoting an event? The Whakatāne District Council has two digital noticeboards, which are available to the public for the promotion of community events and activities within the Whakatāne District.

These digital noticeboard screens for public promotion are located in the:

  • Whakatāne Visitor Centre
  • Te Kōputu a te whanga a Toi - Whakatāne Library and Exhibition Centre.

Digital noticeboard guidelines

The Whakatāne District Council manages these digital noticeboards and has set a series of guidelines to ensure they are used effectively and appropriately.

  • Noticeboards are updated weekly, to include requests received before 5 pm Tuesday.
  • Slides can only be on the noticeboard for a maximum of two months.
  • Whakatāne District Council will not accept party political material for noticeboard display.
  • Whakatāne District Council will not accept material that is inappropriate for public viewing.
  • The Whakatāne District Council will remove material that is no longer current.
  • Your slide will only show for 10 seconds at a time; please keep your information clear and brief.
  • Images will be displayed on our screens in landscape orientation with an image size of 1920px wide by 1080px high. If your notice does not fit these dimensions, we may decline your request or alter it so that it does.

All contributions will be assessed by the Whakatāne District Council before public display, to ensure adherence with the guidelines. Council reserves the right to moderate the digital noticeboard as necessary and to determine the suitability of material received.
