you'd be home by now

Too late, you missed it

Casey Carsel's new exhibition explores displacement, survival, and homesickness at Wormhole Gallery and Studio in Edgecumbe. Casey is a Jewish artist from New Zealand working with textiles and words, and in this case, illuminated planter boxes too.

Come and spend some time under Casey's embroidered patchwork canopy, named after the Yiddish folk song "Knobl-soup!" and dyed with foodstuffs, check in on the growth of the tradescantia plants in their light-up boxes, and see drawings of quilt patterns progress on the walls of the gallery.

Each Wednesday during the exhibition, a sewing circle will be hosted at the gallery 12pm - 2pm. BYO handcraft project and a mask and drop in for a casual sewing session with company.

It’s not quite home, and perhaps it never will be, but, hopefully, one day, we will bloom anyway. - Casey Carsel
