Too late, you missed it

The Whakatāne Arts Society was formed in 1960, by a group of painters and potters who were interested in promoting art & craft in the community. In 1981, a lease was secured for the familiar building on McAllister Street - the Art House. Forty years later the Art House is still in constant use by woodworkers, quilters, potters and painters, weaving a continuous bright thread of creating and making through the history of the Whakatane district.

This the first exhibition of works at Te Kōputu by the Art Society for two years. Painting, pottery, quilting, woodturning and sketching will be available for sale to the public during this exhibition.
