Presented by Arts Whakatāne and exhibition partner Te Kōputu a te whanga a Toi - Whakatāne Library and Exhibition Centre, this annual non-acquisitive award is dedicated to excellence across all art forms within Aotearoa New Zealand contemporary art practice.
The Molly Morpeth Canaday Award is Aotearoa New Zealand’s longest running art prize.
Celebrating excellence in contemporary art across the nation, this prestigious award invites artists to enter work from all visual art genres for their chance to win one of the country's most esteemed art competitions.
The MMCA is an annual art competition offering an exciting platform for Aotearoa New Zealand artists of all genres, ages and level of experience. With a prize pool of more than $25,000, the MMCA aims to ignite the imagination and creativity of artists across the country.
