Jennifer Ward-Lealand Singing Masterclass

Flying Solo: Telling the Story in Song

Too late, you missed it

Stage Door Performing Arts Academy, in conjunction with Creative Communities NZ are thrilled to be hosting 2020 'New Zealander of the Year' Jennifer Ward-Lealand in Whakatane to deliver two amazing masterclasses:

1: The Craft of Acting (18+)
2: Flying Solo (for singers, 16+)

This event info is for Masterclass #2 FLYING SOLO: Telling the Story in Song

In this workshop each participant is directed in a musical theatre song of their choice.  There is a strong emphasis on identifying and developing the inner monologue, and how this focus serves the greater goal – that of engaging at a deeper level with the story of the song and, consequently, with the audience.  Participants receive individual detailed direction and have the opportunity to observe their fellow classmates and engage fully in the process.

For this masterclass Jennifer is joined by fantastic Tauranga based pianist Leon Gray-Lockhart.

Too young, or not wanting to actively take part, but keen to watch and learn from Jennifer? We invite you to attend as an observer.
Having had the privilege of watching Jennifer work with students in the past, Stage Door's Principal, Trace Tidd HIGHLY RECOMMENDS attending one or both of Jennifer's masterclasses as an observer.

Participants (aged 16+) $75
Observers (aged 13+) $45

Limited spaces are available for both participants and observers.
