More things to do

'The Cougar' departs daily from the Ōhope Wharf to take you on your fishing adventure. A great day out for families, or just a group of mates.

A collaboration between Owen Dippie and Tame Iti this mural is titled 'Te Tira Hou' the New Generation.

Te Kura Whare is New Zealand’s first living building. It embodies Tūhoe and Tūhoetana values of respect for nature and whenua, inspired by the unity of people.

Otarawairere is the hidden jewel of the Whakatāne-Ōhope area. This secluded beach is accessible only on foot or by kayak, but the trip is definitely worth the effort.
